Research and innovation are fundamental pillars of HTBA. As a pioneering company in the study and development of flavonoids, we work every day to provide science-based solutions that contribute to improving global health through nutrition. For this reason, we actively participate in leading international research forums that allow us to share knowledge, encourage debate and strengthen our scientific leadership.
Following this approach, HTBA took part in the 23rd International Congress of Nutrition (IUNS ICN 2025), held in Paris from August 24–29 under the theme “Sustainable Food for Global Health.” The event brought together more than 3,000 experts, researchers and professionals in nutrition and public health, becoming a unique meeting point to discuss scientific advances, public health and the challenges of sustainable nutrition.
A symposium to position HTBA as a reference in flavonoids
Our contribution to the congress took shape through a dedicated symposium entitled “Flavonoid Diversity and Disease Prevention: A New Paradigm in Nutritional Science.” As leaders in the flavonoid sector, we showcased our latest research findings on flavonoids and their role in health.
The symposium featured three internationally renowned experts. Teresa Pellicer, Ph.D., Professor at IQS and Biotechnology Manager at HTBA, presented the latest progress in flavonoid research for population health, highlighting their role in lifelong health protection, their interaction with the microbiota, and their ability to reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases.
Francisco Tomás Barberán, Ph.D., researcher at CEBAS-CSIC (Murcia), focused his talk on the relationship between the intestinal microbiota and the citrus flavonoids, emphasizing their positive impact on digestive and metabolic health. Finally, Claudia Favari, Ph.D., from the University of Parma (Italy), shared her findings on the role of citrus flavonoids in cardiovascular disease prevention and their importance in clinical nutrition.
Together, the presentations highlighted the vast potential of flavonoids as key allies for the future of nutrition, not only for their direct health benefits but also for their contribution to more sustainable diets.
Commitment to science and global health
HTBA’s participation in IUNS ICN 2025 reinforces our role as a research-driven company and our commitment to science as a driver of change toward healthier and more sustainable nutrition. Being present at international forums of this magnitude allows us to continue leading the scientific debate and to translate our knowledge into innovative solutions that positively impact people’s health worldwide.
