AENOR verifies through audits that an organization applies a responsible management model based on waste reduction at the source, efficient use of resources and continuous improvement, also conducting annual reviews to ensure sustained compliance. Recently, it has awarded HTBA the Zero Waste certification, a recognition that accredits the company’s commitment to the responsible and sustainable management of the waste it generates.
The Zero Waste certification verifies that HTBA valorizes at least 90% of its waste, ensuring its correct separation, use and traceability, preventing it from ending up in a landfill. The recognition measures companies’ performance based on the principles of the circular economy, which seeks to reduce waste and maximize the value of products and materials by keeping them in the production cycle for as long as possible.
“Obtaining the Zero Waste certification is a milestone that reinforces our firm commitment to sustainability and responsible resource management. At HTBA, we work to minimize our environmental impact and move toward a more efficient and circular model. This recognition demonstrates that we continue to capture the power of nature to generate a positive impact on well-being and health, meeting the highest standards of quality and sustainability”, stated Virginia Nicolás, Head of Environment at HTBA.
The Zero Waste model promotes prevention, reuse, recycling and energy recovery, aligning with the international strategies of the OECD, UNEP (Agenda 2030), G20, the European Union and Spain. With this certification, HTBA reinforces its position as a leading company in sustainability within the health and nutrition industry.
